Part-Time Lecturer

Irfan Raja is a British-Pakistani academic and analyst who holds MBA (PIMSAT), MA in International Journalism (University of Leeds), and a PhD from the University of Huddersfield. Previously, he has taught at NUST University, and Brentwood Open Learning Collage, UK.

As an experienced academic, researcher, and analyst, Raja is well networked and cognisant of contemporary issues in the international media and international businesses. He is an industry expert in media representations surrounding marginalized communities, Islamophobia, radicalization, and violent extremism. He has practiced innovative methods of teachings and endorse learning and building skills through focusing on fieldwork, organizational visits, and professional consultation through lectures.

Relatedly, Raja regularly contributes to several leading newspapers including Daily Sabah, Asia Times, The New Arab, and the Middle East Monitor on contemporary political, cultural, and social issues. Correspondingly, he has produced work in both written and visual forms on social and cultural issues relating to ethnic minorities in Leeds and beyond. Furthermore, he has developed and maintained a strong working relationship with mainstream academics and journalists at an international level that could benefit media and business students in pursuing their career objectives.
