After 3 years as Graduate Tutor at Sheffield Hallam University, Jonathan became a permanent lecturer with the Event Management subject team in 2015. After 2 years at Sheffield Hallam University he joined Leeds Beckett University in August 2017. He is post-Viva for his Ph.D., "A Phenomenological Exploration of Experience at Live Music Festivals," and is due to complete in March 2018. He has published in 3 books; Strategic Event Creation (2014; Goodfellow); Festival and Event Experience (2015; Leisure Studies Association); and Critical Events Studies: Approaches to Research (2016, Palgrave, Macmillan ). He has also published in Arts and the Market with the paper, co-authored with Emma Wood; "Capturing emotions: experience: sampling at live music events. (2015). His research interests include: live music events, phenomenological psychology, descriptive experience sampling and Critical Realism.

Current Teaching

He is currently teaching on: Creative Events Marketing (L4), Professional Event Practice 2 (L5), Festival Management (L5), Individual Project (L6), Event Operations Management (L7).
