Kay Kempers

Lecturer

Kay is a Lecturer within Interdisciplinary Studies at the Carnegie School of Education. She teaches modules relating to special education needs & disability, educational psychology, research methods, professional development and inclusive education.

Kay has a wide-ranging educational background, with a breadth of experience in classroom teaching and action research both in the UK and Germany. She has a lifelong interest in the psychology of education, and a particular interest in creating inclusive and accessible learning experiences for all.

Research Interests

Kay is currently completing research on test anxiety and ability-based beliefs in GCSE students. She is also part of a cross-university working group on the use of generative AI as an accessibility tool, and is a member of the Inclusion, Diversity & Identity research network.
