Meg has a passion for preparing and disseminating innovative and creative methods for assessment, learning and teaching materials. As a result, she was seconded to the university Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) team where she also directed the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Learning Technology Unit for a number of years. Meg’s particular TEL interests are:
- developing, sharing and reusing learning content
- creating usable interfaces for all types of learners
- developing digital stories and podcasts
- evaluating the use of new tools and technologies
Mekala lectures in HCI, User Experience Design, Databases, Systems Development and manages student projects.
Mekala has worked on various EU, JISC and HEA-funded projects, published papers along the way and is currently exploring a specific area of Data Visualisation and Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
