Senior Lecturer

Nicola Moxon is a Senior Lecturer and PhD Researcher in Marketing at Leeds Business School, teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

With a breadth of academic experience within the marketing subject area and a strong focus on consumer behaviour and marketing communications, Nicola joined Leeds Business School in 2019. Prior to this, she was a part-time lecturer at University of Huddersfield, School of Art, Design and Architecture. Before embarking on an academic career, she developed over 15 years industry experience as a practising Retail Designer working with a multitude of businesses across the retail, hospitality, commercial, exhibition and healthcare sectors. Consultancy experience ranges from retail strategy, consumer behaviour and conceptual thinking through to project management and design development. Amongst her industry achievements, she won the Northern Design Awards 2015 for Best Retail Environment.

Nicola is passionate and committed to ongoing development and innovation within the retail and marketing industries, with specific interests in consumer behaviour, spatial vulnerability, servicescapes and the influence of experiential design. She is also part of The Retail Institute Special Interest Group.

Research Interests

Nicola’s research interests focus on consumer behaviour, spatial vulnerability including perspectives related to visual impairment and gender stereotyping, servicescapes and the influence of experiential design on the consumer decision making process.
