Here are 8 things people are guilty of when given a bit of liquid courage…

1. Dance aggressively, with no respect for other people's personal space

You’re dancing a little too close to potential BAE, using other people to keep yourself upright or leaning into someone’s face to have a conversation over the music, sometimes we don’t give personal space a thought after a drink.

2. Make best friends with random strangers

A very 'girl-in-the-bathroom' trait but guys can be guilty of this too - bonding at the bar?

3. Eating your body weight

Anything and everything looks tasty when you’ve had a drink – whether it’s chips, cheese and gravy, a greasy pizza or those chicken wings you’ve got waiting in the freezer.

4. Convince yourself that karaoke is a good idea

If you’re planning on going to Bierkeller on a Monday or Tuesday, you know that getting up on that stage for karaoke is inevitable. A bit of dutch courage and you’re practically Beyoncé…

5. Text your ex

Because everyone knows that confessing your love at 2am is a great idea…

6. Buy endless rounds, as if money has no meaning

Two doubles for a fiver? It would be rude not to… wouldn’t it..?

7. Carry home something random you found in the street

At the time you might think that a traffic cone would look great in the living room, or that you’ve always wanted an extra wheelie bin!

8. Oversharing

Telling your deepest darkest secrets when intoxicated is all well and good, as long as you remember who you've told when sober.

Most of these things will give you a laugh the day after, others might even make you cringe, but there are a few that you need to give more consideration. Take number 7, that cone may have been placed there to warn people of something in the road.

When it comes to invading personal space on a night out, know the line. Almost a third of young women and 10% of men have received unwanted physical attention on a night out.

Far too often this behaviour is accepted as part of a ’good night out’, but it can have more of an effect on the individual than they let on.
