GP Surgeries:
There are plenty of GPs within reach of all our Halls. To help make it easier for you, there will be representatives from your GP on site on move-in day. They’ll be able to take you through the registration process and answer any questions you might have about looking after your health at uni.

You can also search for a local GP here. To register at a GP you must be in the catchment area so just enter the postcode of your halls and you’ll be given details of the GPs you’re eligible to register at.

Leeds also has its own Student Medical Practice which is located on Woodhouse Lane, just behind Broadcasting Place on City Campus. As a student in our halls you’re eligible to register here, so if you’re studying on City Campus and would prefer a GP surgery closer to your lectures then this is also an option for you.

Dentists:
There are also plenty of dentists in Leeds but it’s a good idea to sign up to one asap too as you might need to go on a waiting list. The good news is that unlike GP surgeries, there are no catchment areas so if you wanted to sign up to one near the Uni then you can.

Find an NHS Dentist near you.

The chances are you’ll still have to pay for your dental care unless you qualify under certain criteria. However, Leeds is also home to the Leeds Dental Institute where you are able to volunteer for free dental care from a dental student. You can find out more about that here:

Other healthcare services

GP practices and Dentists are not the only services available. There are a range of additional 'primary care' options available depending on what you need, including walk-in centres, sexual health clinics and pharmacies.

Visit NHS services explained to find out more about the different services. If you are unsure which service you need, you can contact NHS 111 for advice. Call 111 from your phone; the call is free.
