Course: BA (Hons) Primary Education (Early Years 3-7) with Recommendation for QTS

How was your Graduation Ceremony?

It was really good, I am very happy and I really enjoyed it. I was a bit nervous at the beginning and didn’t know what to expect but it’s been such a good day.

What’s next for you now after Graduation?

I got a job as a Primary School Teacher at my final year placement school. I taught in nursery whilst on my placement but I have secured a position as a Year 2 teacher.

Why did you choose to study BA (Hons) Primary Education (Early Years 3-7) at Leeds Beckett?

I came to an open day and it was just incomparable to other universities. I just felt it was the nicest one out of them all, the campus is amazing and the lecturers are all so nice, it’s where I felt most drawn to.

What was your favourite part of your course?

Probably the placements, I really enjoyed getting to know all the kids and getting the experience. The university organises the placements for you, so I did one with a school near Leeds then I organised the other two at home, which I really liked that we had that option. This was great as when I graduated and moved back home, I had made connections in these schools for any available jobs. I had an excellent varied experience teaching in early years and key stage 1.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying your course?

It’s a lot of hard work but it’s worth it in the end. Make sure you start your assignments early and do your work little and often don’t leave it all to the last minute!
