Thanks to our valued partnership with LS Events, a number of current students and recent graduates have secured exciting operational roles across the festival. Here, they’ll gain invaluable experience at one of the region's newest large-scale live events.

Working across a variety of departments, our students are supporting festival delivery in accreditation, event control, VIP management, and external partnerships. This provides opportunities to apply their learning in a fast-paced, real-world environment, while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

Ahead of the festival opening, ETHM students were also invited on an exclusive behind-the-scenes site tour. The visit provided a unique insight into the planning and delivery of a major outdoor event, allowing students to explore the complex infrastructure that brings a festival to life.

From staging, lighting, and technical production to sponsorship activation, media relations, guest experience, and community engagement, the tour highlighted the range of specialist teams required to deliver a successful live event. Students gained first-hand knowledge of the scale, coordination, and collaboration involved, reinforcing the importance of every aspect of event management.

The opportunity reflects Leeds Beckett University's commitment to providing students with authentic industry experiences that complement their academic studies and enhance their employability. By working directly with leading event organisers, students develop practical skills, build professional networks, and gain the confidence needed to succeed in the events, hospitality, and tourism industries.

Our continued partnership with LS Events demonstrates the strength of our industry connections and the value employers place on Leeds Beckett students and graduates. Seeing so many members of our ETHM community contributing to the successful delivery of Roundhay Festival is a fantastic example of learning in action and highlights the career-ready talent emerging from our courses.

We wish all of our students and graduates working across the festival every success this weekend and look forward to seeing Roundhay Festival become an exciting new addition to Leeds' vibrant events calendar.
