Football's Staying Home

So this isn't strictly university related, but it is a little! Neil is currently a Course Director here at Leeds Business School, looking after our Undergraduate Marketing degrees, but one of the things he does outside of this is volunteer as a football coach with Calverley United Junior Football Club. Interestingly, he actually studied for his FA Level 1 coaching qualification up at Carnegie a few years ago and it was a great experience.

Speaking to Neil, he told us "we were all sad when grassroots football was cancelled, especially as the girls had just reached the final of the local FA Cup which was to be played in May".

"In order to keep the girls active and keeping their love of football going, we've been sharing challenges and activities online, with one challenge being to record and share a video as part of the #PassTheBallNotTheVirus challenge".

We're told the girls loved making their clips and the final video that was produced! The team have been working on a few different skills during lockdown, and sharing these with their team mates, as well as undertaking some of the challenges set on twitter by England's @lionesses, all part of Football's Staying Home!
