Bridging the gap between University and Industry – Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO)
Head of UK Centre for Events Management, Dr James Musgrave was invited by ABPCO to discuss the future relationship between the event industry and universities.
Closer relationships was at the forefront of this discussion. Dr Musgrave suggested that increasing collaboration would enhance research impact, strengthen the value and provide further opportunities for all. Following the interview, James added: “I thank ABPCO for the close partnership we have in supporting our students, research and their strength in representing such an important sector of the event industry. This series of conversations underlines the importance of a long term strategy needed between such institutions and the mutual benefit seen in professionalising and enhancing the future of the industry”.

Dr James Musgrave
James has extensive experience in research, consultancy, and training across a number of sectors such as events, hospitality and international manufacturing. His current interests are in corporate social responsibility, pro-environmental behaviour change and sustainable knowledge transfer.
