Professor Croes is the first international academic to spend time at the School since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He is an economist and one of his specialisms is tourism development applied to poverty alleviation and human development, notably in the context of small islands and developing countries.  It was on this topic that he shared his expertise with our MSc Responsible Tourism Management students.  He has also undertaken discussions with staff on potential research collaboration, provided insights to our PhD students who are considering working in the USA, and explained practices at Rosen College, which is ranked among the world’s most highly ranked.

Commenting on the visit, Dean Rhodri Thomas said ‘It has been great to welcome Robertico to our campus.  He is an outstanding academic and I know hearing him talking about his work has inspired colleagues and students’.
