Matthew Martin, Health and Wellbeing Officer at Swim England said:

“We are delighted to have been able to support Leeds Beckett University with Carnegie Sports Centre in their aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the university. The commitment to the Water Wellbeing accreditation is ensuring that more people have the opportunity to become active in the water and improve their health and wellbeing for the future.

Water wellbeing accreditation ensures the facility is accessible, inclusive and inviting to all. It demonstrates the highest standards in quality of aquatic provision offered by their facilities to both healthcare partners and people with long-term medical conditions. Through the dedication of the team at the pool, there is now the opportunity for more people to experience the benefits of the water.”

Nardia Oldroyd, Duty Manager at LBU Sport and Active Lifestyles said:

“Thank you to Nikitta Hunter and Grace Beesley, who both played important roles in completing the work required. The biggest prong to completing the accreditation was introducing Adult Swimming Lessons, which were introduced in October, has already shown to been life changing for some participants.”

Congratulations to Sport and Active Lifestyles and to everyone involved!
