Today we had our final yoga session at the ISMS institute. We practised all the moves and exercises we’d previously learnt - from breathing techniques that helped us cool down, to moves that pushed our flexibility to the max! We’ve learnt a lot and have had many laughs during these sessions, especially with our instructor Ranjana Singh, so they will be missed! We then ended the session with a fun game to commemorate our last yoga class together.

After lunch we visited the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi. This stadium previously held the Youth Commonwealth Games and has many different sports facilities. We toured the grounds and saw the aquatics centre, the gymnasium, the shooting range and more! We were particularly impressed by those we saw practising shooting at a 50m range whilst having to aim at a very small target. We were also told that Kabaddi is practised inside the wrestling centre. It was very interesting to learn that this contact sport, which originated in India, is similar to our game of ‘tig’ but with a lot more rules.

We ended the day with an LBU and ISMS mixed cricket match at the Ganga Legends Sports Complex in Bavdhan. It was a highly anticipated game as cricket is the most popular sport in India (and the players didn’t disappoint!) The atmosphere was incredible, and it was great to see both groups of students learning valuable skills and techniques from one another. It’s safe to say that all the students and faculty had an amazing night sharing their love for sport!

Everyone after the cricket
