The Leeds Beckett website is designed to enable you to manage your own privacy preferences. By clicking on 'Cookies' below you can manage what data the site collects about your browsing. Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

Once you have been made a provisional offer by Leeds Beckett over the phone, on Live Chat, or via our chatbot Becky, there are few extra steps you need to take before you can start looking forward to student life with us.

Your Clearing Offer – What To Do Next

Step 1

Log into your UCAS Hub account, click the ‘Your Choices’ tab and then the ‘Add Clearing Choice’ button. You can now refer yourself to Leeds Beckett

Step 2

If you still hold an unconditional offer with your Firm choice university, you will need to release yourself into Clearing, using the ‘decline your place’ button in your application.

Step 3

Once you refer yourself to Leeds Beckett on UCAS Hub, we will process this as quickly as possible. You will then receive an email from UCAS alerting you to a change on your Hub account.

Step 4

If you want to book university accommodation you will now be able to do this.

Your UCAS Hub account will show your offer. We will be in touch before the start of your course with details about our online Welcome System, where you will be able to enrol and check your timetable.

Your questions answered: Next steps

To confirm your place, log on to UCAS Hub to check the status of your application. If your place has been confirmed – congratulations; there is no need to contact our University. Information welcoming you to Leeds Beckett will follow within a few hours.

Your place cannot be confirmed until you have met all of the conditions of your offer.

We guarantee to find you student accommodation in Leeds when you make us your firm choice institution. View our Halls of Residence on the Leeds Beckett accommodation website and place your booking via the online booking system.

You can apply for accommodation after accepting a conditional or unconditional offer on a full-time course. It may take 24-48 hours from when you accept your offer via UCAS for our system to then update with your status, after which you will be able to place your accommodation booking.

If Leeds Beckett University is your insurance choice you are unable to book accommodation until Leeds Beckett becomes your confirmed place of study

If you haven't yet applied for student finance you will need to apply now at www.gov.uk/student-finance. If you have already applied for finance and your course/university has changed during Clearing you need to let Student Finance England know as soon as possible. Log in to your account to change your details.
