Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress to your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate programme.
Teaching and learning
Learning will take place either on-campus or online only with a maximum of 20 people in a class. There will be 20 hours of learning activities per week. If you're studying on campus, these activities will be classroom-based. If you're studying remotely, some of these will be taught by a tutor at a specific time and other learning activities will be completed in your own time. These 20 hours include breaks, which means an actual time of 16.7 hours per week. Classes will be at any time between 8:00 and 18:00 from Monday to Friday. There will be no classes on national holidays (Monday 26 August 2024).
Study support
You’ll also have one-to-one tutorials with your academic advisor, and you’ll have access to lots of self-study resources stored in our on-campus and online libraries. Your assessments will include a mix of coursework, which tests your reading, writing, speaking and listening; there will be no end-of-course examination.
For students who need to improve their English by the equivalent of IELTS 1.0, we offer a 10-week version of this course.
