Leeds School of Arts End of Year Show returns to in-person events at Leeds Beckett University
The End of Year Show includes projects from Leeds School of Arts Level 6 and postgraduate students in the Art and Design, Architecture, Creative Technologies, Film, Music and Sound, and Performing Arts subjects.
The show starts with the Lift Off festival, a two-week celebration of Leeds Beckett University Music, Sound and Performing Arts students and their work. The Lift Off festival will run until Sunday, 20 May, with events showcasing dance, theatre and storytelling through music and sound.
BSc (Hons) Digital Journalism students are presenting their work on 13 May at the Unlocked exhibition at Leeds School of Arts. The exhibition showcases a collection of multimedia content that explores various themes, including, fashion, music, dance, architecture, history and social issues.
Film enthusiasts are invited to join Northern Film School students for their End of Year Show film screenings at the new Leeds School of Arts cinema at the end of the month, while those interested in fashion can visit the Salon showcase from BA Fashion Design students on 27 May at the Broadcasting Place. Leeds School of Architecture will close the End of Year Show with an architecture, landscape and interior architecture and design showcase on 17 June.
Professor Lisa Stansbie, Dean of Leeds School of Arts, said: “This year we celebrate a physical showcase of diverse work in a range of exhibitions, performances, screenings, social events and publications across a two-month period starting in May.
Our students and graduates are and will be key players in the current transformative themes of contemporary society. Come and see for yourself at Leeds School of Arts and Broadcasting Place, our two flagship buildings based in Leeds City Centre.”
The Leeds School of Arts End of Year Show is open to the public, inviting industry partners and art enthusiasts to get an insight into the future of film, music, creative technologies, design and architecture in Leeds and beyond.
