"My research explores the relationships between different social groups coexisting within the same spaces in Britain in the run up to, and during, the Second World War. The project focuses on how the relationship between British Jews and non-Jews was altered during the conflict, considering the backdrop of Nazi persecution and the accusation that the conflict was a ‘Jewish War’. I am particularly interested in responses to the persecution of Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe and subsequent acts of humanitarianism and aid from British Jews. My research’s geographical focus is on the northern corridor of Hull, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool."
