knowledge exchange framework: archive

At Leeds School of Arts, our academics actively contribute to Leeds Beckett University's strategic priorities through dynamic public and community engagement at local, national, and global levels. As an anchor institution, we play a central role in supporting our communities, fostering inclusion, sustainability, wellbeing, and civic responsibility through meaningful collaboration beyond the university.

Our knowledge exchange activity - captured within the portfolios below - demonstrates a diverse and innovative range of projects that connect research, creativity, and real-world application. This work is shaped around three key strands:

  • Arts for Greener, Sustainable Communities: Using creative practice to inspire environmental awareness, sustainable development, and climate action
  • Arts for Inclusive, Prosperous Communities: Advancing equity, access, and opportunity, contributing to social and economic wellbeing through culture and creativity
  • Arts for Wellbeing and Healthy Communities: Promoting physical and mental wellbeing through interdisciplinary approaches that connect creativity, engagement, and community

We are proud that our research not only advances creative and scholarly practice but also delivers tangible benefits to communities, supporting positive change and broadening participation in the arts and culture.
