Cast a long Shadow: Roles, Relationships, and Recovery within the UK’s Rwandan Diaspora

Simon Boon

"This research uses oral testimonies from Rwandans living in the UK today to understand how they have successfully navigated a path from a homeland destroyed by genocide in 1994, to a vibrant, proud diaspora living here. It aims to understand to what extent ethnic schisms still exist, and how memories of the atrocities committed have shaped their ability to move on given the ever-present transnational influence of Paul Kagame and his master narrative about Rwanda’s history, and especially the genocide."
