'A school survey: What policies and guidance are available to support and inform women secondary school teachers during menopause transition in the UK?'

Over 4,000 UK state secondary schools were surveyed to examine what policies, guidance, and procedures exist to support women teachers during menopause transition. Informed by prior environmental scans and systematic reviews of government, union, and statutory body documents, the study combines statistical and thematic analysis to map available workplace support. Rooted in my lived experience as a secondary school leader, the project highlights inequalities in career progression for part-time women teachers and the under-representation of midlife women in senior leadership. Phase two involves interviews with women teachers, facilitated by menopause journey maps, to capture their lived experiences in the workplace.
