'Knowledge and experiences of pelvic organ prolapse in pre-menopausal women and people assigned female at birth who are pregnant or have given birth'
Georgie Forshall
Georgie is undertaking a PhD exploring the knowledge and experiences of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) as a result of childbirth amongst reproductive-aged people. This work includes:
- An exploratory study of an existing patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) dataset, including a content analysis of patients' symptom and quality of life concerns
- A systematic review of prolapse-related knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAPs) of parous, reproductive-aged women
- An in-depth qualitative, interview study with this population using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA)
Before commencing her PhD, Georgie undertook an MA in Gender Studies at the University of Leeds, and an MRes on online sperm donation at Leeds Beckett University. Alongside her PhD research, she works as a Research Fellow on the LBU APPRAISE study and other projects related to gynaecological healthcare experiences.
