Senior Lecturer

Dr. Huijing Christine Zhang is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and an academic researcher in Leeds Business School. She teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She supervises postgraduate and PhD dissertation students.

Christine joined Leeds Business School in 2015. Prior to this, she was a graduate teaching assistant and a part-time lecturer at Salford Business School. She had taught extensively on the postgraduate block intensive module delivery at University of Salford Media City Campus. Before embarking on an academic career, she worked for a number of years in marketing and international business in China.

Christine is a dedicated educator. She currently serves as Local Research Ethics Coordinator, academic advisor and module leader for undergraduate and postgraduate modules.

Research Interests

Christine's research interests span notions of consumer behaviour, cause-related marketing, social marketing, and digital marketing. She is currently undertaking research on influencer marketing and compensatory consumption.

Christine contributes to activities and projects from Retail Institute, for example, the SBLP programme and Help to Grow Programme to support small and medium-size enterprises. She is a member of the TRI Special Research Interest Group.

Christine currently supervises two PhD projects:

  • Social Media Influencers and Consumer-Brand Engagement
  • Spatial Vulnerabilities and Consumers’ Decision-making Process
