Our course design principles have been updated to support colleagues as we continue to develop and enhance our delivery.

The separate undergraduate and postgraduate principles have been combined into a single set of principles, and the number of principles reduced to 8.

Our research-informed principles continue to inform the design and enhancement of all our courses. The 8 principles have been updated to reflect the Education Plan, our diverse portfolio of courses (including degree apprenticeships) and the knowledge gained during the Covid-19 pandemic as we move towards a more blended and inclusive approach to teaching and delivery. Course teams should refer to these principles when designing, modifying and enhancing courses.

These principles aim to enhance students’ satisfaction, success and engagement in their studies.

You can download the principles using the links below as a PDF document or as a MS Word document. There is also a link to the reference and reading list to support the principles.
