Set Final Inspera Grade with Excel
This staff guide shows you how to set a final grade with Excel within Inspera.
Inspera is an assessment tool used for digital exams in Law and Nursing courses at Leeds Beckett University.
Please note the following regarding the XLS file content:
- Only grades with a corresponding Candidate ID will be imported
- The candidate ID cannot be changed in the Excel file
- If you use the grading scale Pass/ Fail or Passed/ Not passed, you need to register the grades as Pass/ Not Pass in the Excel document for the import to work
- Grades in the XLS file will overwrite any existing grades in Inspera Assessment
- Empty cells in the XLS file will not overwrite existing grades in Inspera Assessment
- You can re-upload the XLS file at any time
- Candidates who have not started the test will get status Submitted if a grade is imported
1. Locate the Grade module within Inspera.

2. Click on the Options dropdown menu.

3. Under Download select Grades and Explanations as Excel file.

4. An XLS file will be saved to your computer.
5. The file will contain the following columns:
- Candidate ID
- Grade (If the candidates have not been given any grades yet, the Grade column will be empty)
6. Open the file in Excel and input the grades. The grades in the file must coincide with the grading scale used for the assessment.
Importing grades is only available to Graders.
1. When grading is complete, locate the Grade module within Inspera.

2. Click the Options dropdown menu.

3. Under Import select Grades and Explanations from Excel.

4. Click Confirm.
5. Select the XLS file on your computer.
6. Click Open and the file will start processing.
