Best practice in diversifying reading lists

This staff guide provides examples of best practice and reading list tools which help to diversify the curriculum.

Bournemouth University’s Diversity and Equality reading list Reading list created to support Bournemouth University Students' Union's diversity campaign in November 2018. These books were chosen by the librarians responsible for Health & Social Sciences, Management, Media & Communication and Science & Technology.
Diversity reading list A practical resource to help academics include authors from under-represented groups in teaching.
Decolonising reading lists This resource is designed to help you decolonise your reading lists as a course team, with support from librarians and in collaboration with students. It can be used by course teams to examine and reflect on their reading lists and provides some practical approaches to evaluating and sourcing alternative texts, to make sure that texts support a plurality of narratives.
HEA guidelines and bibliography A model for learning and teaching practitioners to help embed equality and diversity in the curriculum. Also includes a bibliography to guide practitioners in the pertinent literature.
