Content Editor
This is a staff guide to using the content editor in MyBeckett modules and course groups
The Content Editor allows you to add and format text, insert equations, embed videos, web links, attach files and more.
The Content Editor was updated on 5 November 2020, please note we are in the process of updating our guidance and the information, if you are unsure of what has changed or find you cannot do tasks in the same way, please get in touch.
The updated toolbar has some new icons on the last row, providing quick access to common tasks.
While writing text instructions and providing links to resources, you will be able to check accessibility, preview before saving and inserting files from your computer or OneDrive.
The Content Editor toolbar:
The most important improvement is the Plus icon at the end of the toolbar, which replaces the paperclip button, add media buttons and Mashups.
The Plus button allows you to add content from various common sources:
- Upload from your device (Insert from Local files)
- Insert from Content Collection
- OneDrive (Cloud Services)
- YouTube
Embed multimedia and website links / URLs via the text box
Speed up the process of adding content by adding weblinks, images and videos in the text area, Just paste in the URL of a website/video/image followed by pressing enter.
Everything in one place with Content Item
You can create a content item that combines a variety of materials to view together, such as text, multimedia, and attachments making it easier for your students to engage, presenting a combination of content that serves as a handout or document with visual aspects.
For example, in one content item, you can include introductory text for a lesson, an image, a table of data, and links to web resources. The materials are all presented together in the content list.
*Please be aware that the longer your content item is, the more your students have to scroll to see all the other materials in the content area.
