UKCEM launches partnership with Live Recruitment

The UK Centre for Events Management has launched a partnership with events-based recruitment agency Live Recruitment.

The partnership will involve Live Recruitment contributing to guest lectures, helping to design course content and working alongside final year students to create career networks. They will also be supporting students with interview preparation and CV writing later in the academic year.

Live Recruitment were one of several organisations that attended an Events Management Industry Conference at Headingley campus on 4 October. The conference featured a number of Leeds Beckett alumni and offered students an opportunity to hear from professionals working in the industry.

Laura Sidhu, Senior Account Manager at Live Recruitment, graduated in 2014 from the Events Management course at Leeds Beckett and will be heavily involved in the partnership. 

“It’s been really wonderful to work with some of my previous lecturers who are still here. For me to be able to provide this support for final year students now, it means a lot and it’s something that I’m really enjoying being a part of.

UKCEM Course Director Lucy Laville said “We’re really excited about the relationship that we’re developing with Live Recruitment, who are one of the biggest recruitment agencies in the Events Management industry. They have a really good understanding of the sector and the needs of employers so to have them involved is such a powerful relationship.”
