What is it?

Leeds Beckett take on bitter inter-city rivals the University of Leeds in more than 60 fixtures across 25 sports.

The fixture kicks-off with the traditional pre-Varsity Hockey & Netball fixtures on Tuesday 3 October at Sport Park, Weetwood (University of Leeds) and Sports Arena, Headingley Campus (Beckett) respectively. Tickets are still available for the events at www.leedsvarsity.com

Varsity then gets into the full flow with the Varsity Festival on Wednesday 4 October where most of the events will be played at Leeds University’s Sport Park and Leeds Beckett’s Headingley Campus. There’ll be over 50 fixtures played at the event as well as food and drink stalls and entertainment available all day.

Varsity then culminates in the city’s most iconic stadium, Headingley Carnegie, in the high intense Rugby Union match between the universities first teams. The atmosphere is always electric and passions always run high in this high quality encounter.

Standing tickets for the event have now sold out for the event but seating tickets in the Carnegie Terrace are still available at www.leedsvarsity.com

When is it?

Varsity this year will take place on Tuesday 3rd October (Netball & Hockey) with the main event on Wednesday 4 October. The Rugby Union Finale kicks off at 7pm with spectators required to be in the ground by 6:30pm.

Who can get involved?

There are more than 1,400 students taking part in the action but Varsity is not just for the sporty! Watching and getting behind the respective teams is a huge part of the Freshers' experience and will be one of the most memorable things to do during your time at university.

You can also represent Team Beckett in this year’s Varsity 5KM Park Run which takes place on Saturday 30 September at Woodhouse Moor, the run starts at 8:50AM, details available online here

Not only will the atmosphere be amazing but this year there is set to be another festival feel on campus with music and food stands around the events.

Where can I get tickets?

All day events are free to attend though a ticket is required for the Rugby Union finale.

To get your tickets:

Ring Leeds Rugby Ticket Office: 0871 423 1315 or visit www.leedsvarsity.com

Tickets cost £15 for seating in the Carnegie Terrace which is allocated to all Leeds Beckett fans but due to a limited capacity this year because of redevelopment work to the stadium’s iconic South Stand and North Stand, tickets are selling fast so get yours soon to avoid disappointment.

We also recommend if you are wanting to go with your friends to buy your tickets in groups.

Keep an eye on the website for upcoming information or like Varsity Beckett Fans page on Facebook.
