If you have brought your own bike to University or have hired a Leeds Beckett hire bike there are some simple steps you can follow to minimise your chances of being a victim of bike theft, especially if you are planning on leaving your bike in Leeds during the Christmas break.

Tips to keep your bike safe

Always use a quality D-Lock and lock your bike to something solid. The university bike workshops offer high quality D-Locks for the bargain price of £20, you can also pick one up at Dr Bike which takes place on the first Monday of every month in the Rose Bowl Atrium, level 1, from 10.00-14.00.

On both campuses there are a number of secure cages available to students to store their bike. To get access simply email transport@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.

All halls of residents also have secure cages, ask at your reception in the first instance and they will be able to provide access.
