Each week a senior member of Taylor Woodrow staff delivers a daily ‘Wake up to Safety’ session to the workforce and the office staff, picking their own Health & Safety topic to discuss. Although Jacob is a Technical Apprentice and not a member of the Senior Team, he was highly proactive and took it up on himself to ask the Health & Safety Manager if he could spend a week delivering his own session on a topic he’s passionate about and has personal experience of.

Because of this, Jacob was awarded the Project Employee of the Month and has now received this award for demonstrating the company’s values of Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity and Discipline.

Jacob’s is a great example of the Degree Apprenticeship scheme in action and of the value they can add to both the individual and the workforce.

Degree Apprenticeships are a great route into work-based learning that enable apprentices to study for a degree qualification whilst developing practical skills in the workplace and offer employers a cost-effective way to grow talent develop their workforce.
