Students get insight from Ticketmaster, one of the world’s leading ticket sales companies
Students from all levels at the UK Centre for Events Management were excited to welcome Sarah Slater, Ticketmaster’s UK Vice President (Music and Festivals) for a deep dive lecture on the rapidly changing world of event ticketing and the development of a new digital era of data capture and demand management.
Sarah, [VenueNow International Impact List 2023, Music Week Women in Music Roll of Honour 2022, IILMC Ticketer of the Year 2022] has managed ticketing and sales strategy for the biggest global promoters, festivals and artists such as Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and Coldplay and is at the forefront of the integration of digital data capture into the development of new business practice for this global leading company. Following the session, she said “Ticketing is sometimes forgotten in the exciting and glamorous world of events, so it was great to be able to engage the audience in the importance and complexity of the industry. What a bunch of energetic, inspired students, testament to the School of Events, Tourism & Hospitality Management and course at Leeds Beckett.”
Several students will now be joining Ticketmaster summer program this year working across a huge range of festivals and arena and stadium shows and working towards a career in this exciting part of the industry.
