The Mark recognises achievements in 7 key areas: Committee and Organisation, Coaching, Social and Welfare, Finance, Activity, Competition and Community.

Clubs with the accreditation will now be entitled to certain benefits and rewards dependent on their award level, including access to additional funding, free Varsity t-shirts and priority access to facilities.

Speaking about the Club Development Mark, Sports Office Manager Jo Mannion said "I’m delighted that we had so many successful applications despite the significant disruption created by the pandemic. The Club Mark is intended to be a clear indicator to prospective members, coaches and sponsors that a club is well operated, inclusive and enterprising. I would like to congratulate all Clubs who have been successful in achieving the Club Mark and look forward to submissions from the rest of our Clubs in the coming months!"

Hockey Club Captains James Atkinson and Megan Roberts were delighted to receive their Gold Club Mark explaining “To receive gold Club Mark and be recognised for all the hard work we have put in as a committee feels very rewarding especially after the effects of the pandemic which left the club in a significant period of change and required us all to pull together as one! It’s also pleasing to know that as a result of the award all club members will benefit through the additional funding and the range of other rewards!
