Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

MLaw Law & Professional Legal Practice

For those aspiring to become qualified legal professionals, our MLaw Law & Professional Legal Practice is the perfect choice. This integrated master's course not only covers essential aspects of law, but will also help to prepare you for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE1) and give you a head start on preparing for the second stage (SQE2).

Kelsey's experience - LLB Law with Criminology Hear from Kelsey about what moments defined her student experience studying a law degree at Leeds Beckett

My name is Kelsey Jones, I'm in my final year and I do a LLB Law with Criminology degree.

One of my defining moments was when I was in my seminar for Child Law. It was held by Emma Henderson and it was about domestic violence in marital relationships, and how they're quite common in child proceedings. So we spoke about a case that was held by a judge who described the situation where a woman didn't do enough to stop her husband proclaiming domestic violence on her. I'm grateful to have this opportunity in my seminar class to have these conversations about past perceptions of women and women's rights and domestic violence relationships in child law proceedings.

A valuable moment that I had was undertaking a year-long placement at Plexus Law. This was the first time that I was actually in a professional working environment. I was able to learn from peers, develop my skills and knowledge on the law itself and put it into practice. I have loads of friends from Plexus Law and I still keep in contact with them today. So that's been beneficial to network with other people in a professional environment. During my placement with Plexus Law, I learnt some very transferable skills which I've taken from there and transferred to my current job role as a paralegal.

A great experience that I had was attending jury service. This was a murder case, it was very interesting to see how different people in the courtroom operated and I was able to take that back to my course. I've been able to follow a case through to the end and understand how the outcome is and the actual sentencing itself. It's helped me understand different people's roles in the criminal justice system.

Research available courses: Start by exploring the law courses we have available. You can access all our courses via our Clearing site.
Contact us: Once you’ve got your results and know the course you’re interested in, contact our Admissions team directly on 0113 812 3113. They’ll guide you through the application process and answer any questions you may have. You can also apply through our chatbot, Becky, or contact us on live chat during working hours.
Be prepared: Make sure you have all the necessary information ready, including your personal details (such as mobile phone number), academic qualifications, and your UCAS ID number (if you have one).
