Through Clearing, you can apply for one of our primary teaching degrees and start in September 2026.

Teaching courses available in Clearing
Our primary education degrees combine academic study with real experience in schools and education settings.
BA (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Would you like to lead your own classroom? This three-year Primary Education with QTS degree combines university study with extensive school placements, so you graduate with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You’ll choose from one of two age pathways:
- 3–7 years (Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1)
- 5–11 years (Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2)
On this course, you’ll:
- Work towards Qualified Teacher Status in three years
- Complete at least 120 days in school placements
- Build strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum
- Develop inclusive teaching approaches that support every child
- Train in specialist teaching spaces, including science, maths and early years facilities
Completion of this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), enabling you to begin your career as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
BA (Hons) Primary Education (Accelerated Degree)
Complete your degree in two intensive years on our BA (Hons) Primary Education (Accelerated Degree) and build the knowledge and experience to work with children across the primary age range.
On this course, you’ll:
- Graduate in two years through an intensive programme
- Explore child development, education policy, inclusive practice and the National Curriculum
- Gain experience in primary schools and wider education settings
- Prepare for postgraduate teacher training, including PGCE routes
This degree does not award Qualified Teacher Status. Many graduates progress to postgraduate teacher training to become qualified teachers.

- Be prepared: Make sure you have all the necessary information ready, including your personal details (such as mobile phone number), academic qualifications, and your UCAS ID number (if you have one).
