As part of this course, you’ll:

- Investigate how coaches and mentors develop evidence-informed practice
- Engage in self-study to build your expertise as a coach and mentor, and enhance your teaching and leadership skills
- Learn how to identify the next steps in developing your coaching and mentoring skills
- Hone your ability to adapt to and meet the challenges you face as an educator
- Understand how to foster collaborative working, and influence the educational practice of others to improve students’ learning experience
- Explore the pressures and opportunities that exist in contemporary education
Enhance your skillset
You’ll reflect on your own work, as well as on shared practice with tutors and peers. You’ll enhance your ability to foster rapport with your students through skilful questioning and listening. The practice you build will nurture trust between you and your students.
CollectivED
You’ll join CollectivEd, a new hub for mentoring and coaching based within Carnegie School of Education. The centre’s work aims to positively influence educational policy at an institutional and national level. Working with staff, peers and partners from around the UK, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape future practice and co-create knowledge.
