Politics and International Relations
The Politics and International Relations Group, led by Dr Sophia Price, consists of research active teachers, and includes activist academics and practitioners. While we have a diverse set of research interests, we share a strong commitment to social equality and to understanding and influencing the processes of change at the local, national, regional and global levels.
Collectively our research and teaching take an inherently critical and inclusive approach. We seek to challenge the dominant themes and voices within the disciplines of politics and international relations and expand the conversations and debates about the key issues facing the world today through the inclusion of a variety of approaches, theorists and themes. Please select the links below to read more about our research and our teaching.
As part of this inclusive approach, we have an extensive range of external activities and engagements. Every year in November we have a week-long Festival of Politics and International Relations, which is open to the public as well as students and offers a range of speakers, debates and activities on key contemporary issues. In addition members of our team are engaged in a range of external roles. For example Professor Rachel Julian is a member of the Conflict Resolution Society and the Institute of Fundraising and Dr Sophia Price is the co-editor of the Lynne Reinner series, Advances in International Political Economy. Please explore the range of our research interests and expertise through the research link below.
