Centre for Culture and Humanities

Our research centre showcases research in English, History, and Media. We promote innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research within and beyond the academy.

The Centre for Culture and Humanities brings together humanities researchers at Leeds Beckett University, offering a space for collaboration, innovation, and showcasing new work.

We work with partners in the local community and beyond. We are committed to the idea that humanities research can promote social justice, and is relevant to people far beyond traditional academic circles.

Our monthly Cultural Conversation in partnership with the Leeds Central Library offer opportunities for the public to learn about, and engage with, our latest research in English, History, and Media Studies.

We also host regular public events, often around themed moments in the calendar like Black History Month and Women’s History Month. Have a look at our newsletter and our events page to find out more.

For more information about visiting scholar opportunities, please contact Dr Susan Watkins.
