Arranging a Diagnostic Assessment with an Educational Psychologist
If QuickScan has shown indicators of a SpLD or you have been advised to have an updated diagnostic assessment, you can follow the steps below to arrange this.
Once you have had your assessment you will receive a diagnostic report that details the Educational Psychologist's findings and whether you have a SpLD. If the report you receive includes a positive diagnosis, you would be eligible for support from Leeds Beckett Disability Advice. You may also be eligible to apply for Disabled Students Allowance from your funding body.
To apply for funding:
- Complete QuickScan. Please take a note of your reference number
- Pay the £50 refundable contribution towards your assessment in the online store
- Complete the simple Disability Diagnostic Form (This is where we will ask you for your QuickScan reference number)
- Once your form has been processed, you will receive an email with the contact details to book your assessment. It is up to you to book your assessment with the details included in this email
The process of arranging a diagnostic assessment and any support that you might need while studying can take around 12 weeks. If you wish to apply for Disabled Students' Allowances, this can take a further 12-14 weeks. Please contact Disability Advice and apply for Disabled Students' Allowances as soon as possible.
