PUSHING

the boundaries

The cricket programme at the university is very strong, with opportunities for all standards, male and female. We have two men’s, as well as a men’s and women’s UCCE squad.

The team won back-to-back titles in the BUCS Trophy in 2021/22, respectively. Leeds/Bradford UCCE won the BUCS National Trophy, and were runners-up in 2023.

About us

Athletic Union cricket club

The university is part of the Leeds/Bradford MCCU, a partnership with the University of Leeds, Bradford University and Bradford College. With this and the AU club, cricketers are able to access high quality indoor and outdoor facilities, with intensive training and coaching. Players for both the men's and women's team have gone on to play for Country Cricket teams and have the opportunity during the year to play against County level teams.

Training begins with indoor nets in October for all teams, with fixtures from April to June. Competitively, the club plays in BUCS, with the men’s first team in Premier North and current BUCS Trophy Winners.
