Studying Sport and Exercise Science

I'm confident to say that I'm a natural at sport, and at school, I studied Sport BTEC and achieved a distinction. My sporting abilities go much further back than this achievement, however. As long as I can remember, I have played sport: from team games like football to individual pursuits like skiing and Muay Thai. The passion I have built over the years, along with my previous academic successes, lead me to where I am today.

Sport and Exercise Science offers so much more than just an understanding of sport, though. The combination of sport with biology and the human body really interest me as I'm learning about how everything is interconnected. Expanding my knowledge on the skeletal, cardiac, respiratory systems is just the starting point!

What do you hope to gain whilst studying at Leeds Beckett?

Whilst hoping to achieve the best grade possible during my time at Leeds Beckett to go on to have a career in Physiotherapy, I would like to experience getting to know my fellow students and experience university life. There are so many life skills I hope to develop to help me become a competent and independent person. I am also interested in joining some of the university's sports clubs to give me better exposure to different techniques and abilities which will help to develop my understanding of performance in sport and biomechanics.
