Studying Broadcast Media Technologies

The journey to university was difficult, especially finding the confidence to study a creative course. With the help of the Paul Wilmott Scholarship, however, my experience and time at Leeds Beckett is going to be far easier and a lot less stressful than it has to be. Throughout my time at so far, I have been able to find a great group of friends, many from Leeds Beckett Societies and my course, who have supported me in becoming more social and seeking out more activities that push me outside of my comfort zone. I also hope that learning to challenge myself will help me to network and make useful connections and contacts to help me build my career.

How will The Paul Wilmott Scholarship help you with your studies?

This year I intend to start a new project using the Perform 1 Studio. After a test session last year, I would like to create studio performance videos using Leeds Beckett musicians and local Leeds bands and continue to post them online. I intend to use the money of the Paul Wilmott Scholarship to acquire a good base level of equipment that I know would enhance my ability to create and produce new projects that would help enhance my portfolio.

The fact that I'm the first person in my family to have the opportunity to both go to university as well as to potentially receive life-changing funding gives me all the more drive and motivation to thrive and succeed in my academic goals. I am passionate about my degree, and I am committed to delivering high-quality results.
