Studying Business Accounting with Finance

Throughout secondary school and sixth form, I studied Business Studies under the guidance of an exceptional teacher, who fostered an inspiring and supportive learning environment for me. Their mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping my current and future academic ambitions. They emphasised the diverse career paths within the field, encouraging me to explore the opportunities available. This ultimately led to my decision to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant, with a strong aspiration to work for a leading firm.

One of my most defining experiences was attending a PwC open day, which deepened my passion for the profession and solidified my ambition to work for a prestigious firm like PwC. Since then, I have been inspired by the work, culture, and global impact of the Big Four firms - PwC, Deloitte, EY, and KPMG. These firms are renowned for their commitment to excellence, innovation, and professional development, and I am determined to work towards securing a role within one of them.

Attending Leeds Beckett University on applicant days provided me with valuable insights into the emphasis placed on securing placements and internships to complement academic studies. With the ICAEW's support, I aim to seize opportunities that enhance my development and advance my career goals. Additionally, I look forward to taking advantage of the extensive resources and opportunities available within Leeds Business School to further strengthen my skills and industry knowledge.
