Studying Physical Education
My decision to study at Leeds Beckett was influenced by the inviting nature of the university and it is apparent the university is diverse and values inclusion, which is something very important to me.
Physical Education doesn't always need to be associated with the sporting success that comes with participation. Sports education helps you to practise empathy and to appreciate that nobody is the same and that the differences people have are the things that can unite us.
It is for this reason that my dream is to be a Physical Education teacher as I believe helping young people discover themselves is the best act of kindness anyone can ever give. want to help others to access sport who don’t have the means, and I want to help people to be the bests versions of themselves.
How will The Carnegie Class of 78-82 Scholarship help?
Growing up, my parents always encouraged me to be the best version of myself as I possibly can. I’m the first in my family to go to university, and everyone is behind me cheering. I have always prioritized my education and appreciated that education is one of the best ways to build your career.
It is for these reasons that I am proud to be a Carnegie Class of 78-82 Scholar and I hope to one day be a practitioner my family can be proud of. The scholarship support me on my Leeds Beckett journey and open up opportunities for me to further my studies.
