Studying Law

I've always been passionate about public speaking, but my interest in law goes far beyond that. Law resonates deeply with several of my personal traits: perseverance, curiosity, creativity, strong listening skills, and a genuine desire to advocate for those who are vulnerable. I'm also someone who thrives in challenging situations, as they inspire me to push harder and to cultivate patience.

Additionally, I am eager to gain practical skills through internships and work placements that will prepare me for the legal profession. Leeds Beckett's strong links with law firms and its practical approach to teaching will enable me to build the experience I need to excel in my future career. I also hope to engage in extracurricular activities, such as joining societies or participating in moot court competitions, which will broaden my perspective and enhance my university experience

How will the Halifax Law Society Scholarship help?

With the support of the Halifax Law Society Scholarship, I will be able to purchase resources to aid my study, such as a new laptop and law texts of my own without having to reply on the use of the library. Having my own copies of these texts would give me the flexibility to study whenever and wherever, whether I'm commuting on a long train journey or studying at home. Additionally, I would invest in any law-related resources that would help me stay ahead in my course, such as attending legal workshops or seminars, which are sometimes costly but crucial for developing practical skills.
