Activities on the day included a Dragons’ Den event to link in with the Professional Development module, where students had to pitch their business ideas to ‘Dragons’ from industry, business, academia, and our careers team.

Sports and Exercise Therapy Employability Day

A speed networking lunch allowed students to interact with industry professionals and potential employers and gain advice in preparation for employment. The afternoon finished with panel discussion on ‘What can I do with a Sports and Exercise Therapy degree?’ where industry professionals, many of whom were LBU graduates, presented their career pathways since graduation and gave some very useful tips for success.

Feedback was gained from all involved in the event and shared throughout the day; some student comments included:

“This was a great event that uses real insight into how our future could look. If anything, just more dragons to learn from!”

“Felt like there was a lot of information included, very helpful”

“I found this very interesting and useful, and it gave me lots of motivation into looking for post-graduate jobs.”

A special note of thanks is extended to Nyree Hardie, our SOH careers consultant, who worked closely with the course team and behind the scenes to bring together a really successful event!
