An exhibition in two spaces, introducing the work of the Early Cinema Research Group, Leeds.

The Early Cinema Research Group, established this year at Leeds Beckett University, will encourage and facilitate research into all forms of visual media and will be presenting its work in a series of upcoming exhibitions and film screenings.

At the heart of the group's work is the Stephen Herbert archive, a collection of books, research paper and artefacts connected to the history of motion pictures and held by the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University. The archive contains a wide range of items including an original Talbotype, an original Eadweard Muybridge stereoscopic photograph, unpublished manuscripts and around 500 books on all aspects of film and television history.

Researchers are welcome to contact the university to discuss a visit.
