THE LAURENCE STERNE TRUST

We work in a close partnership with the Laurence Sterne Trust, Shandy Hall, Coxwold, North Yorkshire which is the former residence of the celebrated author Laurence Sterne and seen by many as the spiritual home of experimental literature. Working closely with their curator Patrick Wildgust, we have established over a number of years a series of one-week residencies for artists, critics, curators, designers and poets in Wolfson Cottage in the beautiful surroundings of the North York Moors National Park. These residencies facilitate accommodation and a truly unique research experience which help us to entice internationally celebrated artists, architects, designers, filmmakers, musicians and performers from around the globe to come and participate in our prestigious INSIDE/OUT lecture series. The curator Patrick Wildgust also regularly gives talks at our University as well as running specialist workshops on experimental literature for our Graphic Design & Fine Art students.
