Alecia M Badenhorst

Aletia M Badenhorst

Aletia M Badenhorst, a PhD candidate in Performing Arts, uses a practice as research methodology to performatively respond to the Richard Demarco archive at the Demarco European Art Foundation. Drawing on the work of Tadeusz Kantor, Joseph Beuys, Paul Neagu, Robert Filliou, Marina Abramović, Bobby Baker, Rose Finn-Kelsey and Ian Hamilton-Finley, her practice is situated in performing archives, autobiographical, postdramatic and participatory-immersive performance. Her enquiry investigates the subjective archives of Demarco, the performers, as well as the audience-participants and reacts to memories and mementos in intercultural, interlingual, sculptural performances imbued with original music, poetry and puppetry.
