Bethany Goode celebrates on the acre

Bethany is a BA (Hons) Filmmaking student at Leeds Beckett, originally from Suffolk she chose our university after a friend who had studied here recommended the course to her. She’s always been passionate about Filmmaking and after developing her skills at college realised that her passion could become a career, with the help of an education at Leeds Beckett University’s prestigious Northern Film School.

"It makes me feel incredibly proud. I’m still kind of astonished and in shock. It means an awful lot, and shows that I’ve done well and that I’ve achieved something. It will 100 per cent make the world of difference to me. My mum is only able to work part-time and struggles to support me. I work 40 hours a week as a waitress. I’d like to think that hopefully if I make a successful career out of coming to this university then I’d like to do the same to help future students achieve their best."

Bethany will use the money to fund co-curricular activities such as attending film festivals, and going on university trips to complement her academic studies – something that otherwise she might have been unable to afford.
